Instrument Trial Policy

We offer a 10-day free in-home trial, within the continental U.S., of all our instruments. Violins, violas, cellos, basses and bows are available to be taken out from our shop, or shipped to the customer (some exceptions apply). If circumstances permit, appointments can be made to try instruments outside the continental U.S.

Security information and completion of a trial contract are required prior to the trial period. Permanent address, phone number(s), school address (if applicable), driver’s license and/or social security numbers, credit card number and email address are necessary.

For instruments to be shipped, those valued up to $10,000 are shipped via UPS or Fedex ground service. Those valued over $10,000 and up to $100,000, are shipped via Fedex overnight or 2-day service. Please see our shipping policy for more details.


How to Request a Trial

  1. Call us at (703) 256-0566 so we can discuss the details of the trial with you over the phone.
  2. Download, print, and fill out our trial contract. Sign your name where indicated near the bottom of the document. Leave the “Description of Instruments” box to be filled out by a representative of Brobst Violin Shop.
  3. Once finished filling out all necessary information, scan in this document and save it as a .pdf file or in any image format such as .jpg or .png.
  4. Email us at brobstviolinshop@gmail.com and attach the document to your message. Please indicate which instrument(s) you would like to try again so we have a written reference in your email.
  5. Expect a response to your request soon. We will fill out all necessary remaining information and have the item(s) shipped to you within the same or next day.
