Oreste Martini
Oreste Martini was born in Italy in 1893. He studied under famed craftsman Stefano Scarampella. Martini began his career in music as a Bassist, studying the instrument from the age of 14. By his early 20s, he was producing his own instruments. Many of his instruments show strong influence from the works of Scarampella.
Over the course of his life Martini is credited with having made 300 violins, 10 violas, 50 cellos, and 45 arched-back double basses. Oreste was awarded medals at Cremona, Padua and Paris.
