Genuzio Carletti, Pieve di Cento 1937, 17½”

A large instrument with a very large tone. The back is from a single piece of poplar with matching sides. The grafted neck is from flamed maple while the pegbox and scroll are from tightly figured maple. The top is from two pieces of wide grained spruce. The varnish is a reddish-brown color over an amber ground. The instrument which was made in collaboration with Joseph Settin of New York, is in an excellent state of preservation and bears the original label as follows: “Joseph Settin Venetus / fecit anno domini 1937”.
