Paul Serdet

Paul Serdet was born in 1858 in Mirecourt. He apprenticed under Jules Gaillard, and eventually joined the workshop of Justin Derazey. He later moved to Lyons to work for Hippolyte Chrétien Silvestre. In 1894, Serdet opened his own workshop in Paris, where he lived and worked until his death in 1934.

Serdet’s instruments are often models of classic Italian makers, including Stradivari and Guarneri. His workmanship shows outstanding precision and technique. The wood used for his instruments is carefully selected and consistently high quality.
