Emile Germain

Born in Paris in 1853, Emile Germain was the son of maker Joseph Luis Germain. After apprenticing in Mirecourt, Emile joined his father’s business in 1870. He partnered with maker Dehommais until 1882 and then worked independently until his death in 1933. Germain was a prolific maker, producing around fifty instruments a year and winning various awards, including a medal at the Paris Exhibition of 1890.
