Giuseppe Castagnino, Chiavari 1932

This beautiful violin has a rich, deep red varnish and a striking one piece maple back with medium width flame. The top is made from two pieces of fine to medium grained spruce. The chamfer of the scroll is outlined in black in a style common to Genoese instruments, revealing the influence of the Turin style. It is branded “G. Castagnino” above the end button and inside above the label. Its tone is strong, penetrating, and brilliant.
