Maurizio Bissolotti, Cremona 1983

A virtually new, unplayed violin made by the son of Francesco Bissolotti. This instrument has been in a private collection and is now available for sale. Its sale will include the maker’s handwritten certificate. Maurizio Bissolotti worked with his brothers and father, famed maker Francesco Bissolotti, in their workshop in Cremona. The Bissolotti family made significant contributions to the modern re-birth of the Cremonese violin making tradition, starting with Francesco’s study at the Cremona Violinmaking School in the 1950’s and the opening of his first workshop in Cremona. This instrument was personally purchased from Maestro Bissolotti by Gerald and David Brobst in 1984.
