Plinio Michetti

Plinio Michetti was born in 1891 in the province of Savona. There he met Euro Peluzzi, who introduced Michetti to violinmaking. He developed his violinmaking skills further by visiting other workshops in Genoa. After moving to Turin in the 1920’s, Michetti worked for the firm Morutto, dealers of musical instruments. He then opened his own workshop in Turin. Although Michetti tended to keep a low business profile, he participated in many national exhibitions and competitions and won a number of awards for his instruments. Michetti was known for making instruments that were inspired by makers of the Piedmont school, including Fagnola, Oddone, and Pressenda.
