Vasile Gliga Workshop

The Gliga Workshop was established by Vasile Gliga, a Romanian violin maker. In 1988 he made his the first violin for an exhibition in Cremona. Soon after he opened a small workshop in central Romania. Since then the Gliga Workshop has grown into an internationally recognized brand. Gliga uses wood from the Carpathian Mountains where Stradivari is thought to have sourced his wood. Their instruments are made with spruce for the belly and maple for the back, neck, sides and bridge.

Vasile Gliga has gone on to oversee several public projects, including the building of a dance studio and a soccer club. Gliga was elected to the Romanian Parliament in 2008.
