Umberto Lanarro

Umberto Lanarro was born in 1930 in Padua, Italy. He designed his own models based on Italian violin-making traditions, and became known for his artistry and outstanding technique. Lanarro worked with his brother, Luigi, from 1945-1953.

Lanarro developed a good reputation for his skilled work as a luthier, and generally didn’t show his work at competitions, although he did win a gold medal at Bagnacavallo 1976.
