Don Leister

Don began studying violin-making and repair in 1989, shortly after graduating from VCU with a BA in painting and printmaking. He continues to participate in violin-making and restoration workshops with numerous makers and organizations.
He has experience working for notable Richmond area violin shops and he also established his own shop in 2003. His affinity for music and fine woodworking has led to over a hundred violins and violas. He is also now making copies of historic American guitars. Over the years he has earned awards for excellent workmanship and tone from the Southern Violin Association and the Violin Makers Association of Arizona.
