Auguste Delivet

Auguste Delivet was born in Mirecourt in 1861. ​He studied violin making in his hometown with François Chardin and his uncle, Victor Rambaux. He then moved to Paris to work for Hippolyte Chrétien Silvestre. After five years, he opened his own workshop in Paris in 1892. The Delivet shop recieved gold medals at Nantes in 1904 and Liege in 1905 and 1906, and a silver medal at the International Liege Exhibition in 1905. In 1918, Delivet moved to Toronto, Canada to work for the firm Williams & Sons. Then in 1923, he established his own workshop in Montreal.

Delivet’s work is faithful to the style of the french school. His instruments are highly sought after by professional musicians.
