William Moennig, Philadelphia 1926

This is a unique bass from one of the finest violin houses (of the past) in the world. This bass, an excellent example of Moennig’s skill and craftsmanship, has a light golden brown varnish. Its back is made of two pieces of maple with medium flame with matching sides, neck, and scroll. The top is of two piece spruce with narrow flame at the center, widening at the flanks. The string length is 40″.
