Maire/Peccatte school, France mid-19th century, nickel & ebony

This is a very interesting bow from one of the great schools of bowmaking. It has playing qualities equaling those of certified Maire or Peccatte bows of a much higher price. The stick is made from beautiful striped orange-brown and dark red-brown amourette wood. The frog is ebony with nickel mountings. The bow is in excellent condition. This bow is to be sold with photo certificates from Paul Childs, Montrose, NY, May 2009, and Jean Francois Raffin, Paris, December 2007.
