Carlo Antonio Testore, Milan 1742
To be sold with the photo certificate of Peter Biddulph, London, May 14th, 1997, as follows: “The back is from two pieces of plain maple, cut on the semi-slab. The scroll is also of plain wood. The front is of two matched pieces of spruce with grain of medium to fine width. The violin has a clear, pale golden-brown varnish, and is a good example of the maker’s work.” Labeled “Carlo Antonio Testore / in Milan, 1742”. Length of back is 356 mm.
