Rene Jacquemin
Rene Jacquemin was born in Mirecourt in 1886. He first studied with Nestor Audinot. Later on, Jacquemin worked with Léon Mougenot in Mirecourt and with Felix Caressa in Paris. In 1919, he established his own workshop in Mirecourt.
Jacquemin modeled many of his instruments after those of masters luthiers including Stradivari, Guarneri, Lupot, and Vuillaume. In 1926, he was awarded a Gold Medal in a French violin making competition.
