Many find that getting to know the makers can be just as exciting and interesting as playing their instruments and examining their craftsmanship. Reading about the makers, their stories, and their work makes the process of searching for that perfect instrument all the more personal; it separates individual artistry and handiwork from impersonal machining. It also connects players and luthiers across continents and generations and provides a view into the lives of the masters behind the instruments.
